1. What is the difference between an IV Drip, IV push and injection boost?

IV is an abbreviation for “intravenous”. To administer an IV Drip, a small plastic tube (catheter) is inserted into a vein using a needle that is quickly removed once the plastic tube is advanced into the vein. IV Drips consist of 500 to 1000 ml of fluid with a mixture of vitamins and anti-oxidants. 2. How does vitamin Drip IV therapy work?

IV Vitamin Therapy works by administration of vitamins and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. Booster shots are administered via intramuscular (IM) injection so there is no GI metabolism, which also allows for increased absorption. In some cases, with people who suffer from advanced stages of autoimmune diseases or cancer, continued IV therapy may be necessary for nutritional support. Some clients get progressively better and after a series of treatments they no longer require ongoing weekly IV therapy, only monthly treatments to maintain balance. Other clients need regular vitamin injections in order to help alleviate symptoms of their chronic or common medical conditions.

 

5. What does Drip IV vitamin therapy treat?

6. Are there any contraindications?

7. Do Drip IV infusions cause bruising?

Bruising is a known side effect that rarely occurs in a minority of peripheral IVs. Due to the catheter insertion into a vein, the venipuncture itself can lead to bruising for a few reasons: patient’s vein anatomy such as angle, size, venous wall fragility, and previous scarring. We minimize this at by using highly skilled medical professionals.

 

8. Can I have an allergic reaction?

We always ask about allergy information before providing any treatments. Allergic reactions to IV vitamin therapy are also rare but can occur if a patient has an unknown allergy to one of the nutrients used. All nutrient information about IV Drips is provided upon request. Reactions to the vitamins themselves are unlikely since they are all naturally present in the body.

 

9. Can I overdose on Drip IV vitamin therapy?

Most IV treatments are not recommended more than 2 times per month because of the highly concentrated doses provided. The vitamins remain in your system and help maintain levels for 2-3 weeks. However, it varies on the individual and reason for treatment. For example, someone looking for adjunctive cancer treatment can receive multiple high dose vitamin C IV drips per month versus someone looking to use IV vitamin therapy as a preventative health measure.
